Water Tanks
GVTEC regularly supplies large water tanks for clients requiring such tanks for process reasons or for fire water tanks.
Ground water should NEVER be stored in Austenitic stainless steel tanks due to the risk of Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC) that can lead to very aggressive corrosion of the tank material, leading to the development of leaks.
Experience has shown that only the following types of water is to be stored in these tanks:
- Potable water of municipal quality, or
- Rain water collected directly from a clean roof.
